After suffering a high ankle sprain against Alabama, it looks like
Jalen Whitlow may actually play on Thursday night. During his press conference today, Mark Stoops said that Whitlow returned to practice on Sunday and will go again today:
"Jalen is improved. Practiced yesterday, he'll practice today. So, we'll see how that goes."
Does that mean he'll start? Whitlow was listed second on the depth chart behind Maxwell Smith, but that could change as the week goes on:
"He was out there practicing,
Max got most of the reps but we’ll see how it plays out here today and tomorrow," Stoops said. When asked who would be the third QB, Stoops implied that Whitlow's ankle had improved so much that the staff won't need to worry about that. "We're working on a few guys, but
it looks like Jalen or Max will be able to go."
Stoops said that the bye week has done wonders for his team's health, and Bud Dupree may return as well: "It’s important to get Bud back. He’s obviously one of our best players at any position."
