Somerset natives Jacob and Jerod Smith have relocated to Connecticut, but the front seven players have remained priority targets for Kentucky football in the 2024 recruiting cycle. One is ready to make a decision.

Four-star defensive lineman Jerod Smith will be making a commitment on Tuesday. Unfortunately, Kentucky does not appear to be in great shape in this recruiting battle.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) gives Jim Harbaugh‘s Michigan program a 72.4 percent chance to land a commitment from the defensive line prospect. Jerod Smith (6-2, 255) is a standout player at Cheshire (Conn.) Academy. The four-star recruit took an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor last month. In the last week, two Michigan recruiting insiders have logged predictions for Smith to commit to Michigan.

The Smith twins have unofficially visited Kentucky multiple times most recently attending a junior day in January. Jacob Smith announced his top six schools on Friday with Kentucky making the cut along with Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Nebraska, and Notre Dame. The Wolverines appear to be in position to strike first in the recruitment of the two brothers.

Recruiting never stops.
