Screen Shot 2015-04-06 at 9.59.55 AM I think one of the things that made yesterday suck even more was the regrettable lack of sportsmanship some UK players displayed after the game. By now, you've heard about Andrew's comments about Frank Kaminsky, an unfortunate slip-up by a great kid, and you probably also heard that Willie Cauley-Stein and the Harrison Twins also skipped the handshake line after the game, retreating to the locker room in shock. All three players have gotten a lot of flack for their poor sportsmanship, and yesterday, it seemed like salt in the wound because it's so out of character for a group of amazing kids. John Calipari addressed the behavior yesterday in an interview with Bonnie Bernstein in which he said his players made a mistake at a difficult time. "These are great kids who do dumb things at times," Cal said. "In that moment of trying to make an historic thing, they probably did some dumb things, but I love these guys and I know what they're about." Because Kentucky is the villain, the media and the haters pounced on it. "Now, if you want to find a chink in the armor, 'There you go, they're bad. I knew those Kentucky kids couldn't be, they're'-- we deal with that everyday. I deal with that personally everyday," Cal said. "You're wrong, you're not always right. You make a mistake, you live up to it."
