What a tough year for John Wall. The Washington Wizards just announced that their star point guard will be out for a full year after rupturing his left Achilles tendon.

Wall was already recovering from a surgery he had on January 8 to repair bone spurs in his left heel and suffered the rupture after slipping and falling in his home. Doctors diagnosed the rupture while cleaning out the infection to the incision from the original surgery. He will undergo surgery soon, which will be performed by Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He’s expected to return to full basketball activities in approximately 12 months. Wall’s four-year $170 million contract extension kicks in next season; at least he got that secured before this happened.

Coincidentally, this is the same injury that Wall’s former teammate DeMarcus Cousins just returned from. Maybe Boogie can give him some recovery tips?
