Running back is perhaps the top position of need for Kentucky in the class of 2023. During this cycle, we seen Kentucky take a look at junior college product Robert Henry, lose two high school commits, and recently host a pair of three-star prospects on campus.

Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods tailback Trey Cornist and Douglasville (Ga.) South Paulding tailback Jamarion Wilcox are two players to watch moving forward. It’s clear that Lumberton (Miss.) High product Robert Henry is on the board after winning the Walter Jones Trophy, awarded annually to the nation’s top junior college player. The Jones College tailback rushed 1,302 yards and 18 touchdowns in 10 games this season. Both South Carolina and Kentucky have issued recent offers.

However, another name has appeared on the radar. Norcross (Ga.) Meadowcreek tailback Jordan Louie backed off his commitment to West Virginia on Nov. 11 as the Mountaineers appear on their way to a 4-8 season and head coach Neal Brown is firmly on the hot seat.

Per Rivals’ Trent Smallwood, Louie has three official visits scheduled for December. Kentucky is set to receive the final trip.

Kentucky must address tailback with multiple scholarships before this recruiting cycle ends. Louie could be an option for the Cats as the 205-pound tailback rushed for 1,558 yards and 15 touchdowns while also contributing 38 receptions for 640 yards and four touchdowns.

Signing day is just around the corner and Kentucky needs to close on multiple prospects. Jordan Louie is a name we’ll now be watching closely.
