YAHTZEE!

One of the state’s brightest young stars will join Mark Stoops’ secondary. Jordan Lovett announced on Kentucky Sports Radio that he will be a Kentucky Wildcat.

Recruited by Vince Marrow, Lovett chose Kentucky over Louisville, Missouri, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati and Boston College. The North Hardin High School star is the third Trojan to pledge his allegiance to the Wildcats in the last two recruiting cycles, joining defensive lineman Octavious Oxendine and running back La’Vell Wright in the 2021 recruiting class.

A three-star recruit, 247 Sports ranks him as one of the 50 best safeties in America. Near the top of UK’s recruiting big board, Lovett is the fifth-ranked player in the state of Kentucky according to Rivals. The Wildcats’ nine-member 2021 recruiting class now has four of the top eight players from the Commonwealth.

Unlike many top recruits, Lovett stepped onto the recruiting scene by his play on the field, not through the spring and summer camp circuit. Last year he picked off 15 passes, the most in the state of Kentucky. If Lovett had the opportunity to compete in camps, I’m confident the lengthy safety would have rapidly risen through the recruiting rankings. See for yourself.
