Julius Randle's Saturday Morning Links

by:Rashawn Franklin08/25/12
Good morning, Big Blue Nation. The Saturday morning links are dedicated to Julius Randle's winning dunk at the Under Armour Elite 24 dunk contest. Yes, Randle went behind-the-back to win the event. You are not still dreaming. As a slam dunk connoisseur, I appreciate everything that has to do with this work of art. Creativity. Athleticism. Swag. It's all there. In his post-contest interview, Randle said he'll be cutting his list of colleges down to nine or 10 pretty soon. Don't worry, UK is expected to be heavily involved in the big guy's recruitment. With Randle, maybe some Harrisons, and a dash of Wiggins, Calipari's class of 2013 could be legendary. LEGENDARY, I SAY! On to the links. -Remember Mislav Brzoja? Well, Brzoja, who was denied admission to Northwestern in June and expected to attend Dayton, has changed schools once again. Brzoja will attend Villanova this season to play for head coach, Jay Wright. -There's some self-imposed sanctions going on in Wisconsin. Marquette fired an assistant coach and suspended head coach, Buzz Williams, one game after recruiting rules violations. -Florida head football coach, Will Muschamp, has not yet named a starting quarterback after a year-long battle. Muschamp announced that both quarterbacks, Jacoby Brissett and Jeff Driskel, will play in the season opener. Hopefully this mess still isn't figured out when the Cats get to Gainesville. -As we reported yesterday, Josh "Jorts" Harrellson worked out for a Miami Heat team that is looking for a big. It looks like Harrellson will have some competition for the spot in the form of Chris "Birdman" Anderson. I didn't even know Anderson was still in the league. -Want pictures from UK's world record balloon fight? Well, here they are, and they are pretty hilarious.
