Kentucky Baseball has reeled in its first big Power-Five fish out of the Transfer Portal.

Kansas State catcher Raphael Pelletier, who will be a redshirt senior next season, is transferring to Kentucky. This might signal the end of Devin Burkes‘ tenure in Lexington.

He was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2023 with a .257 batting average and six home runs. He experienced a bit of a down year in 2024 however, as he hit just .210 with nine home runs. Two of his nine home runs came against Oklahoma State on April 20.

The Kansas State catcher was the 42nd best transfer in the portal according to 64Analytics.

Pelletier has started 112 games for the Wildcats over the last three seasons and is a native of Quebec, Canada, following in the footsteps of fellow Canadian Émilien Pitre.

Pelletier is Kentucky’s 10th addition so far out of the Transfer Portal. He’s the second from a Power-Five school (Boone).
