Karter Knox will take an official visit to Louisville this weekend (seriously)

The Louisville men’s basketball program is at its lowest point in possibly the history of the program. After finishing last season with a 4-28 record, the Cardinals aren’t exactly doing any better in 2023-24. Louisville is 4-6 and has lost its last three games, the most recent loss at home at the hands of Arkansas State (yes, the Red Wolves, not the Razorbacks)
That’s just what’s happening on the surface though. Earlier this week, JUCO transfer Koron Davis was dismissed from the team after saying he wasn’t going to transfer after Louisville released a statement saying that he was — all in a matter of a few hours. Head coach Kenny Payne’s days are certainly numbered as the rumors of him getting canned are only growing louder. Everything that can go wrong for Louisville right now, is going terribly, terribly wrong.
Which is why it’s hilarious that a five-star recruit is going to visit this weekend.
According to multiple reports, Karter Knox is set to begin his official visit to Louisville on Saturday. Knox is the younger brother of former Kentucky player Kevin Knox, who was recruited to the Wildcats by none other than Kenny Payne. Now, Payne is looking to land another Knox brother in a battle against his former boss, John Calipari. He better have a really good pitch.

Karter, a 6-foot-6 wing, is ranked No. 13 overall in the class of 2024 by the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s down to a final four of Kentucky, Louisville, South Florida, and the G-League Ignite.
Payne is — rightly so — trying to parlay his previous relationship with the Knox family into a commitment from Karter. But the timing of it all just couldn’t be more incredible, even if the visit was planned weeks in advance.
