For the third time this season, Keldon Johnson has been named SEC Freshman of the Week.

Keldon averaged 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in Kentucky’s wins over No. 22 Mississippi State and No. 9 Kansas, shooting a team-best 52.9 percent from the field. After going 0-8 in the first half vs. Kansas, he came out on a tear in the second, going 3-3 from beyond the arc en route to 15 points and 10 rebounds, his third career double double. He’s averaging a team-high 14.6 points per game, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

This is the seventh time a Kentucky player has won SEC Freshman of the Week this year. Tyler Herro and Ashton Hagans have also won the award twice each. Tennessee’s Grant Williams won SEC Player of the Week after scoring 43 points vs. Vanderbilt on Wednesday.
