Kentucky Adds UAB and Marshall to 2020-21 Basketball Schedule

The University of Kentucky announced the addition of two teams to its 2020-21 basketball schedule. UAB will travel to Rupp Arena Dec. 6, followed by the Marshall Thundering Herd on Dec. 29.
The two new additions officially give the Wildcats 12 nonconference opponents in the upcoming season. Eight will be at home, three at a neutral site and one will be played against Louisville at the Yum! Center.

Kentucky is 12-0 against Marshall, last defeating the school from nearby Huntington, West Virginia 85-54 in 2012, a game where Ryan Harrow scored 23 points.
The Wildcats have a score to settle with the Blazers from Birmingham. The series is surprisingly tied at 3-3. Kentucky won last year’s meeting, avenging a 2007 loss at Freedom Hall and a heartbreaking second round exit from the 2004 NCAA Tournament. This year UAB will be coached by Andy Kennedy, the school’s second-leading scorer who called UK basketball games with Tom Hart on the SEC Network last season.
