A pair of rising high school seniors are winding down their respective recruitments. Kentucky is a finalist for each.

Class of 2025 defensive backs, Robert “RJ” Jones III and Rashad Johnson, both recently announced on social media that they are down to 10 college options each.

We’ll start with Jones, who is considering Kentucky, Auburn, Florida, South Florida, Miami (FL), Louisville, Missouri, Central Florida, Illinois, and NC State.

Ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 676 overall recruit from the class of 2025, Jones clocks in as a 6-foot-1, 165-pound cornerback. He currently has official visits locked in with South Florida (April 24) and Illinois (June 21) with a decision date scheduled for Tuesday, May 28. Jones tells KSR that he’ll be scheduling more visits in the future.

Kentucky offered Jones, who plays high school ball in Florida, back in Jan. 2023. It marked his fifth Division I offer at the time and the second from an SEC program (Auburn being the first).

As for Johnson, his group of 10 finalists include Kentucky, Louisville, West Virginia, Michigan State, Kansas State, Penn State, Texas A&M, Central Florida, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. He’s being recruited to UK by safeties coach Frank Buffano, who offered Jones this past January.

Although he’s unranked by On3, 247Sports has him as a three-star class of 2025 prospect while Rivals holds him in even higher regard as a four-star. Johnson is listed as a 6-foot-2, 170-pound safety out of Bushnell, FL. According to On3’s Chad Simmons, he has a trio of official visits currently locked in: Penn State (June 7), UCF (June 14) and Texas A&M (June 21).

A visit to Kentucky has “not yet” been set, Johnson tells KSR, but he is expected to add more visits to his schedule with a decision coming sometime this summer. He’s already taken spring visits to Louisville, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Texas A&M with a visit to West Virginia slated for this week.
