The Kentucky football team is in the middle of the final week of fall camp. Even though the Wildcats will not open the season for a little more than two weeks, things change once fall semester classes begin next week. Wednesday afternoon KSR spent time speaking with various members of the secondary after a lengthy conversation with defensive coordinator Brad White.

The Kentucky secondary was a target of criticism throughout the 2021 season. Mark Stoops went to work this offseason, adding three defensive backs from the transfer portal, as well as a few rising freshmen. Cornerbacks coach Chris Collins details the competition on the outside. Ole Miss transfer Keidron Smith shared why he came to Kentucky and what he’s bringing to the table this fall. Jalen Geiger is adjusting to a new position, switching from strong to free safety, while Carrington Valentine is showing newfound confidence as the Wildcats’ anchor on the edge.

You can hear all five of those conversations below. Before you do, be sure to subscribe to KSR’s YouTube channel so you don’t miss out on more interviews like these and our new original content.
