The Wildcats will be rocking red, white and Kentucky blue in Toronto next week at the 2023 GLOBL JAM. And we’ve now got the basketball sneakers to prove it.

To celebrate the July 4 holiday, Kentucky basketball released a preview of the shoes the Wildcats will wear while representing the United States in the prestigious event. It will be the Nike Ja 1 Hunger — a red, white and blue rendition of Ja Morant’s first signature shoe.

Take a look:

What to know about the Ja 1, released to the general public back in May, per Nike:

  • The Nike Ja 1 is built for the dynamic game of Ja Morant, Nike Basketball’s first Gen Z signature athlete. It focuses on three performance areas: dynamic lockdown, responsive ride and support for landing.
  • At a starting price of $110, the Nike Ja 1 provides an accessible footwear option for all players and communities.
  • Dynamic Lockdown: The midfoot lockdown system provides a secure and snug fit, allowing athletes to quickly change direction while on the court.
  • Responsive Ride: The forefoot Nike Air Zoom bag helps give a quick, explosive sensation underfoot.
  • Support for Landing: The raised sidewall guardrail helps support takeoff and landing on two feet, combined with a raised cushioned foam collar and zonal cushioning for additional ankle support.

Interested in purchasing Kentucky’s new signature GLOBL JAM sneakers? They are currently available on the resale market for most sizes under $200, ranging anywhere from $135 to $200.

No word yet on uniforms or merchandise — certainly a hot commodity for Big Blue Nation upon release. Kentucky x USA gear? You kidding me? More on that as details are made available.

As for the actual basketball, the Wildcats are set to leave for Toronto on Sunday, July 9. From there, the team will tip off against Germany at 1:30 p.m. ET on July 12, followed by Canada at 8 p.m. on July 13, then Team Africa at 1:30 p.m. ET on July 15. And then to close out the event, the Wildcats will participate in either the bronze-medal game at 1:30 p.m. ET or the gold-medal game at 8 p.m. ET on July 16.

Kentucky basketball is back in just over a week.
