It’s a complicated recruitment for the top-ranked player in the country, but Kentucky appears to have positioned itself well as we enter the homestretch of the Tyran Stokes sweepstakes.

After starring on ESPN2, Stokes announced that he’s down to five final schools: Kentucky, Louisville, Oregon, Kansas, and USC.

“I don’t think I’m going to take any more visits at this point,” he said on ESPN. “It’s a little late, for me at least, to take more visits and talk to new coaches and stuff like that. I like the five schools that I’m with right now. I’m gonna just take my time, lock in with that and figure out from those five schools where I’m going.”

He says he does not have a specific timeline in mind for a final decision. Stokes’ focus is on juggling basketball with a newly-found high school football career.

During the ESPN2 broadcast, Stokes was sensational. He scored 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Notre Dame overcome a 16-point deficit to defeat Dynamic Prep. Trailing by one point in the final seconds, Dynamic Prep dialed up an isolation play to Marcus Spears Jr. Stokes picked off the pass to the Top 10 2027 talent to call game.

Predictions for Stokes to Land at Kentucky

Once his final five dropped, it was the ideal opportunity to share intel on where things stand with Stokes. 247 shared a Crystal Ball pick for Stokes to land at Kentucky.

However, allow me to be candid. That pick was made by a bunch of chickens. Nobody in that organization had enough intestinal fortitude to put their name on it; instead, the pick came in from the “247 Sports Staff Projection.”

You know who’s not a coward and will shoot you straight? Joe Tipton.

The Rivals recruiting guru shared intel on Stokes’ situation. Even though he has not placed a prediction for Stokes, he believes Mark Pope is in a great spot — “Kentucky is the school that comes up the most often — with a potential decision date looming in the very future. Oregon and Phil Knight are making a late push. Can Kentucky beat the Ducks to the finish line? Tipton spent the afternoon answering questions from around Big Blue Nation about Tyran Stokes on KSBoard.
