The NIL era is here and there is no going back.

On Wednesday, Kentucky launched a headquarters page on their website as a reference point for anyone trying to find information regarding name, image, and likeness. The Kentucky Road has officially begun.

University of Kentucky Athletics is positioned as a leader in the college sports space around Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) as a new era in college athletics dawns.

This page is the one-stop shop for everything regarding the NIL era, which begins July 1, 2021 in Kentucky following Gov. Andy Beshear’s Executive Order that paves the way for student-athletes at Kentucky’s universities to pursue compensation from NIL deals.

On the webpage, both athletes and prospective employers can find frequently asked questions, the university’s current policy, and other important information. The resource details when and how student-athletes can make money in this new era. Meanwhile, the NCAA has officially approved interim NIL policy for all 50 states.

As the calendar turns to July 1, the previous world as we know it in college athletics is officially over. Now student-athletes will be able to profit off of themselves. On social media, athletes at Kentucky are looking to grow their brand by gaining followers to improve their individual social media presence.

Everything is set to change as we head into this new chapter. Only time will tell how everything goes with NIL now being active for each individual in the NCAA. We’re all about to learn a lot in the upcoming days.
