Kentucky is currently hosting five uncommitted players on their official visits — Tyreese Fearbry, Dane Key, Aamil Wagner, Jason Essex, Quinton Conley — this weekend as the coaching staff looks to add to the 2022 class. Ryan Baer won’t visit until next week, but the top-400 prospect will be making his decision soon.

The 6-foot-7 offensive tackle out of Eastlake (Ohio) North spoke with John Kampf of The News-Herald earlier this week, and the intriguing prospect provided an update of his recruitment following an unofficial visit to Ohio State. However, the Buckeyes allowed Baer to leave Columbus without issuing a scholarship offer.

“I’m keeping an eye on Ohio State,” said Baer in regards to his favorites as of right now. “If they offered, yeah, they’d be in there, too.”

After visiting Virginia last weekend, Baer is currently in Champaign-Urbana visiting Bret Bielema and Illinois. Next weekend he’ll be in Lexington followed by officials to Michigan State and Tennessee to round out the month of June. Sometime in between, the offensive line recruit with go to Notre Dame and Pittsburgh on unofficial visits.

However, the three-star prospect is ready to get to a decision. Baer is taking a ton of visits right now to figure out which school fits him best. The offensive tackle would like to come to a decision next month so that he can fully focus on his senior season at North.

“I hope all these visits go well and I can commit sometime in July before the season starts,” said Baer. “This recruiting process has been fun, but I’m ready to get it over with.”

Kentucky figures to have a great chance to land Baer. Vince Marrow has been recruiting the prospect for the staff and the Wildcats have a lot to offer. The Big Blue Wall brand remains a strong one and Baer could join a recruiting class that includes blue-chippers Kiyaunta Goodwin and Grant Bingham. At the next level, Baer projects to be a right tackle.

Next week’s official visit to Kentucky will have a big say in the recruitment, but as long as Ohio State does not offer the Wildcats have to like their chances with Baer.
