Kentucky Opens as 17-point Favorites against Vanderbilt

After the bye week, Kentucky opens up as 17-point favorites ahead of their home matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday. The over/under is set at 45. https://twitter.com/CircaSports/status/1325517660830920705?s=20 Kentucky is 3-3 against the spread this season, covering against Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Georgia just last week. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt is at 2-3 and is 0-5 straight up on the season. An interesting note when betting this matchup is the over/under. It's a low total at 45, but both teams have combined to hit the under eight times this season, Kentucky going 1-5 and Vandy sitting at 2-3. It can be argued that the over has hit in Vandy games because their defense is giving up 35.4 points per game to opposing offenses. Where this total will hit is really depending on what Eddie Gran decides to do against the 'Dores. Does he stick to the script that has this Kentucky offense struggling to build some confidence within the scheme, or does he spread it out to gain some confidence in his young receivers? I would probably lean under, given the fact that asking Vanderbilt to score on this Kentucky defense will be a tall task, but I can't really pinpoint where Kentucky's offense will fall on the point total. Oddly enough this Kentucky offense covering 17 might be the safest play this week, despite being held under 20 points three times this season. Go Cats, bet responsibly.
