Kentucky Set to Visit With 2027 5-Star Center Obinna Ekezie Jr.

Obinna Ekezie Jr. is one of three players with an offer from Kentucky in the 2027 class. The five-star center is expecting a visit from the Kentucky staff soon.

The 6-foot-11, 215-pound center from Southeastern Prep (Lagos) told KSR+ that Kentucky is expected to be in to visit with him this week. He didn’t specify which day the staff will be in to visit.

Ekezie is ranked as the No. 1 center and the No. 3 overall prospect in the 2027 Rivals Industry Ranking. Rivals ranks Ekezie as the No. 2 overall prospect in the class.

Ekezie recently took an unofficial visit to USC during the Mamba Camp in Los Angeles. He also holds offers from the likes of Kansas, Ohio State, Auburn, Alabama, Houston, and Washington, among others.

Kentucky Starting to Visit With Top Targets

Kentucky has started to check in on top targets since midnight on Wednesday. The staff got things started with Deron Rippey Jr. and Tay Kinney.

2026 five-star forward Baba Oladotun is being visited by Kentucky on Wednesday, his father told KSR+. Four-Star center Ethan Taylor is also expected to receive an in-home visit this week. KSR is keeping track of the full list here.
