Kentucky Swept In Oxford

[caption id="attachment_178871" align="aligncenter" width="600"] (UK Athletics) (UK Athletics)[/caption] UK dropped game three of their series at Ole Miss 7-5 on a walk-off home run. The BatCats led 5-0 in the third inning, but the Rebels chipped away until Henri Latigue blasted a home run off Sean Hjelle in the ninth. JaVon Shelby and Tristan Pompey both homered to give UK the lead, but the defense faltered and forced three unearned runs. Evan White, Riley Mahan, and Pompey all had two hits in the loss. Kyle Cody was sharp once again, but errors by Luke Becker and Mahan hurt his day. Kentucky had not been swept all season, and now sits at 29-23 and 13-14 in the SEC. There isn't much to say about this game because most UK fans are feeling the same way right now. The loss is frustrating because it felt like there would be an upswing after last week's series win against South Carolina. Nothing seems to come together at the right time. A pitcher will throw a gem, but the offense looks dead. The starting pitcher and offense will play well, but the bullpen blows a lead. Two of the four losses this week were on walk-off hits and Friday night's loss was by a 3-1 score. Today should have been a win just like Friday and in the midweek game loss to Indiana. There are some big questions that need to be answered in the four games next week. UK travels to Paducah (No, I don't know why) against Murray State and have a home series against Mizzou.
