Kentucky Target Baba Oladotun Commits to Maryland

2026 five-star forward Baba Oladotun has made his college selection. And he’s not headed to Kentucky.
The 6-foot-10, 190-pound small forward from James Hubert Blake (Silver Spring, MD) announced his commitment to Maryland on Wednesday. He chose the Terrapins over the likes of Kentucky, Arkansas, and Georgetown.
Kentucky first started recruiting Oladotun early in his high school career, showing interest in July of 2024, before offering in September. After reclassifying from the 2027 class to 2026, Oladotun took an official visit to Kentucky in October for the Blue-White game.
“They were definitely on point,” Oladotun’s father, Ibrahim, told KSR+. “Everything was timely. They picked us up from the house, took us to the airport, and we got to the hotel. Coach [Jason] Hart and Coach [Mark] Pope were waiting for us at the hotel.”
Oladotun is the No. 7-ranked player in the Rivals Industry Ranking. Rivals ranks Oladotun as the No. 4 small forward and the No. 9 overall player in the 2026 class.

What Does This Mean for Kentucky?
Kentucky is yet to land its first 2026 commit, and now another player has committed elsewhere. UK’s big board is slowly dwindling, with Baba Oladotun the second player on Kentucky’s board to commit elsewhere on Wednesday.
2026 five-star center Arafan Diane committed to Houston on Wednesday. This leaves only a few players left with serious Kentucky interest on UK’s big board. All eyes remain on Tyran Stokes, as he’s down to Kentucky, Kansas, and Oregon. As the day nears it’s end, it’s becoming less and less likely that he makes an early decision.
Then, there’s five-star guard Caleb Holt of Prolific Prep (Huntsville, AL). He remains a key target for Kentucky, with some intel on him dropped over on the KSBoard on Tuesday.
I recently placed an RPM at 60 percent confidence for Kentucky to land five-star forward Christian Collins. He is down to a final three of Kentucky, USC, and UCLA.
