Kentucky will get its revenge for the 2023 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on the hardwood during the 2024-25 college basketball season. Approaching three decades since their last head-to-head matchup, the Wildcats are set to take on the Clemson Tigers in the 2024 ACC/SEC Challenge, Mark Pope and the gang traveling to the Palmetto State in a true road game for the first time since 1933. That game will take place at Clemson on Tuesday, December 3.

College Hoops Today’s Jon Rothstein was the first to break the complete ACC/SEC Challenge slate, which includes 16 games on Dec. 3 and 4.

Kentucky leads the head-to-head series 12-4 dating back to 1922. The Wildcats defeated the Tigers 76-61 on Nov. 29, 1997 in Phoenix at the Premier Classic while Clemson pulled off the 79-71 upset win in Indianapolis at the BCA Classic on Nov. 15, 1996. Before then, the two teams played just once following the 1930s — a 68-67 overtime win for the Tigers in the NIT back in 1979.

Clemson is coming off a run to the Elite Eight in 2024 after pulling off upset wins over No. 3 seed Baylor and No. 2 seed Arizona in the Round of 32 and Sweet 16, respectively. The Tigers would ultimately fall to No. 4 seed Alabama in the national quarterfinals, finishing the season with a 24-12 overall record and fifth-place finish in the ACC. They are led by Brad Brownell, who enters his 15th season at Clemson as the program’s all-time winningest coach at 265-189 overall.
