The Wildcats were originally slated to open up SEC play against South Carolina on December 29th, but after COVID issues within the Gamecock program, the game has been moved all the way back at the end of the season for the SEC’s make-up window. The Gamecocks enter the final week 6-12 (4-10).
The biggest takeaway here is that Kentucky will not schedule an additional team. John Calipari said after the loss on Saturday that it was “unlikely” UK would find another opponent before the season ends. The ‘Cats will play Ole Miss on Tuesday night at 9:00 PM ET for their final road game of the season then wrap it up against Frank Martin and company on Saturday.
Kentucky’s previously postponed games against Texas A&M and Detroit Mercy will not be made up, and Kentucky will finish the season with 24 regular-season games, 17 of them being in conference.
Go ‘Cats.
