Kentucky did not beat Kansas tonight, despite leading the No. 1 Jayhawks by 14 points in the second half; however, the Cats showed fight, at times dictating the game despite being down three seven-footers. Unfortunately, Kansas’ experience won out in the end, with the Jayhawks finishing the game on an 11-1 run en route to the 89-84 victory.

It feels odd to share highlights after a loss, but there were a lot of thrilling moments in this one, especially the first half. Rob Dillingham had 16 first-half points, including four straight threes. The freshman guard finished with 18 points before fouling out in the final minute. Adou Thiero also showed a lot of fight after missing a game due to concussion protocol, finishing with 16 points and a team-high 13 rebounds. His first-half dunks had everyone in the Bluegrass on their feet.

Antonio Reeves scored a team-high 24 points, 19 in the second half, and Reed Sheppard provided a spark off the bench with 13 points in 16 minutes. Sadly, his final three attempt was a desperation airball. Check out all of the top plays below. Even though it was a loss, there’s a lot to be excited about.
