Kentucky WBB will face Miami (FL) on the road in SEC/ACC Challenge

Kentucky women’s basketball’s non-conference schedule for the upcoming season is slowly coming together.
Another piece to the puzzle was revealed on Thursday by ESPN, as the Wildcats will head to the Sunshine State for a matchup against Miami (FL) in this year’s SEC/ACC Challenge. Tipoff is set for Wednesday, Dec. 3, but a time and TV designation have yet to be announced.
Other notable SEC/ACC Challenge matchups on the women’s side include South Carolina at Louisville, LSU at Duke, Notre Dame at Ole Miss, and NC State at Oklahoma. The Hurricanes are the eighth opponent on Kentucky’s 2025-26 non-conference schedule that we know of so far.
This year will mark the third edition of the SEC/ACC Challenge, which was lopsided in favor of the SEC last season. Both the men’s and women’s teams finished 7-7 in 2023-24 during this event, but the men’s SEC side went 14-2 in 2024-25 while the women’s SEC side finished 10-6. Kentucky fell to North Carolina on the road, 72-53, in last year’s challenge.

Kentucky and Miami (FL) have met just four times since the turn of the century, with both teams winning a pair of games. Much like the ‘Cats, Miami is about to enter year two under a new head coach, Tricia Cullop, who oversaw a 14-15 record last season. Kentucky is entering year two under Kenny Brooks, who immediately reenergized the program with a 23-8 finish and a Round of 32 appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
With a few more non-conference games still to be announced, the first half of the schedule is nearly complete. The current slate is light on Power 4 opponents, but that could change over the coming months as more matchups are made official. For example, Kentucky is expected to host a game in Lexington against Purdue to complete the two-year home-and-home series. And then, of course, we have the annual rivalry showdown with Louisville, a projected top 20 program next season.
