For the final game of the season, Kentucky will wear all black. The Cats will wear black tops, pants, and the alternate black Wildcat helmets in the Governor’s Cup. They first debuted those helmets vs. Louisville two years ago, a 26-13 Kentucky victory.

This will be the first time this season Kentucky has worn all black. They wore black tops and blue pants vs. Vanderbilt on Oct. 10, a 20-13 loss. The Cats are 1-4 in the all-black uniforms in the Mark Stoops era.

UK’s social media team borrowed a phrase from Tennessee when teasing the uniforms online, writing that the Cats are going into “dark mode.” Freshman quarterback Cutter Boley, who will get the first start of his career vs. the Cardinals, modeled the look.

On the other side of the ball, Louisville will wear white uniforms with red helmets. Mike Rutherford said on his radio show earlier this week that Louisville reached out to Kentucky in hopes of making this a red vs. blue uniform game. Clearly, that request was denied.
