Kentucky’s 83-76 win over West Virginia is clearly the biggest of the season, arguably one of the biggest of the John Calipari era. After dropping out of the top 25, the Cats erased a 17-point deficit to beat the No. 7 Mountaineers, which led to a raucous postgame locker room.

“It was crazy,” Nick Richards said. “Crazy.”

Kevin Knox was wrapped up with an ESPN interview after his 34-point performance, but said the locker room was lit when he finally got back there.

“I had ESPN [interviews] and when I came in, they all jumped on me and stuff. Us freshmen, a lot to people doubted us coming into this game, I think we were underdogs by 10 points. Especially with a lot of freshmen on this team, the locker room was just crazy. We were just jumping, hyped, smiling and all that stuff. Cal was really happy for us.”

What was Cal’s message after the game?

“He just said, good win. He introduced us to his high school coach, his college coach. Like he said, it was a great win for us. A lot of people had us losing this game so we prepared. One thing he said is we prepared really well for this game. Our shoot around was good, the two practices before this game were really good. Our practices and the way we prepared were a really big factor in why we won this game.”

Enjoy it, boys.
