Longtime readers of the blog know that I am all for people taking pride in their alma maters. Rarely a day goes by that I dont sing the praises of the Middlesboro Fighting Lee Majors, the Transylvania fighting Ned Beattys and the Duke Fighting Richard Nixons. And today we find out that Kige Ramsey is proud of his Russellville Panthers. The Panthers have advanced to the High School Football quarterfinals (the picture above is their stellar District Champion Academic team which will have to do as I couldnt find a football picture) and Kige is ready to give them their props. He especially likes two of their players a great deal and gives quotes that are.....well Kige-rific:
Mikey Benton --- "a Vince Young type player"
Dustin Center --- "he needs to be recruited by....a college"
This may be the only time Mikey and Vince Young have been compared, but considering Kige's sports knowledge, I bet it wont be the last. And as for Dustin.....I am certain that "College" will start recruiting him very soon. Kige has me singing the Russellville High School fight song (I think it is "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam) and waiting for their next game. Tell em Kige!
