We have a time set in place for Koby Keenum’s commitment.

The three-star interior offensive lineman out of Florence, AL announced on Wednesday that he will make his college decision, which has been scheduled for Saturday, July 9, at 11:00 a.m. CST (or noon EST). Keenum will make the announcement at his school, Mars Hill Bible. He’s down to the likes of Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.

Over the last several days, Kentucky has been trending heavily as Keenum’s eventual landing spot. KSR’s Adam Luckett and Nick Roush were the first to log picks in favor of UK, which they did on July 2. Since then, the unanimous view from other recruiting outlets has been that the ‘Cats lead for his services — two analysts from Rivals, three from 247Sports, and one from On3 have all logged picks for Kentucky.

During the month of June, Keenum took official visits to a trio of his preferred programs: Kentucky, (June 10), Louisville (June 17), and North Carolina (June 24). The Wildcats’ new offensive line coach, Zach Yenser, was the one who offered Keenum, doing so on April 29. There was some noise following his visit to UL that the Cardinals were the frontrunner, but that has changed dramatically since the weekend.

Despite missing out on the likes of Cristian Conyer and Karmello English this month, recruiting momentum for Kentucky is still on the rise. The staff secured commitments from three-star RB Khalifa Keith and four-star S Avery Stuart this week with more potential additions on the way. Four-star DL Kendrick Gilbert will announce on Thursday while four-star WR Anthony Brown will make his decision on July 16.

With the addition of Stuart on Wednesday, Kentucky now has the 42nd ranked ’23 recruiting class, according to On3. Adding all three of Keenum, Gilbert, and Brown — which is very much a possibility — would inject some much-needed juice into the program.
