Kofi Cockburn is returning to Illinois
As expected, Kofi Cockburn is returning to Illinois. The seven-foot, Second Team All-American from Kingston, Jamaica, just announced that he’s going back to Urbana-Champaign for his junior season after withdrawing from the NBA Draft ten days ago.

Florida State and Kentucky were Cockburn’s other two finalists, although KSR learned earlier this week that the Cats’ interest in him was not as high as it originally seemed, to the point that he and John Calipari never communicated directly. From here, Kentucky will continue to pursue Jalen Duren and develop its frontcourt of Oscar Tshiebwe, Daimion Collins, Keion Brooks, Lance Ware, Jacob Toppin, and Bryce Hopkins. Today, Calipari and the entire coaching staff were at the Peach Jam to watch Duren and other targets.
