KSR Fan of the Day wants Afternoon Notes

A few happenings from the Bluegrass on a pretty active start to the holiday week:  (1)  AOL Fanhouse writer and my Tampa homeboy Brett McMurphy put together an interesting study detailing the drug policies of all sixty BCS schools.  It was a good report for UK.  Kentucky is one of six schools who require a suspension for a first-time offender, along with Baylor, Georgia, Miami, Virginia Tech and Cincinnati.  On the other hand, Louisville is one of eight programs, along with Texas, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Florida State, Oregon, Oregon State and Virginia who do not require suspensions for second-time offenders.  It's a pretty interesting look into some of the programs.  (2) Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes, Enes.  Still nothing.  (3) However, Brandon Knight has been named as a candidate for the Bob Cousy Award, awarded each year to the nation's best point guard.  Or, at least that's what they say.  Greivis Vasquez won it last year.  Knight only has 65 more guys to eliminate off the list at this point.  It also takes the sting off of having no Cats named to the SEC Player of the Week awards this week.  (4) Just a few days after essentially making it sound like he was a lock to arrive at UK, football commit Jon Davis seems to be a little uncertain again.  Davis told Jody Demling that he wants to "make sure" that UK is the right place for him and will visit Louisville and Cincinnati, as well as Illinois, a trip that was believed to be dead.   We'll say it again.  You can't lose this commitment.  (5) Big news for the Filthy Cards as they Dougied their way into the heart of four-star quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who gave them a commitment earlier today.  Bridgewater, ranked as the nation's second-best dual threat quarterback, gives Charlie Strong yet another big recruiting piece and is a big win in Florida.  But, for you, the question now becomes what will happen with Seneca's DaMarcus Smith, another four-star dual threat quarterback who committed to Louisville a year ago and raved about Charlie Strong.  Will he open up his recruitment again and give the Cats a look?  We'll see.   (6) Good news for all of you PBL fans out there.  Perry Stevenson and Jared Carter have reunited to form a formidable front court for the Rochester Razor Sharks.  Stevenson, of course, was recently cut from the D-League and Carter comes off a year with the Vermont Frost Heaves, where he averaged 8 points and six board and, most importantly, threw it down!
