Mark Stoops Re-establishing Kentucky Identity But With Explosive Offense - Nick Roush KSR

It’s finally here. When the schedule was released, Kentucky football fans wrote in wins for the first four games of the season. The Wildcats lived up to their end of the bargain. Now they face their biggest test to date as the No. 22 Florida Gators come to Kroger Field for a Noon kickoff on ESPN.

The tailgate lots opened early for the Big Blue Nation to pound some beers prior to kickoff. The last time the Wildcats hosted Florida, Kentucky fans stormed the field to complete exorcise the demons that plagued this program for decades. And just like that, Kentucky is looking to win its third straight game, its fourth in six years.

To completely turn the tables, the Kentucky defense must suffocate a high-powered Florida rushing attack to force Graham Mertz to put the team on his back. It’s unclear if he’s capable of mastering that task. We know that Devin Leary has showed up in big games throughout his career at NC State. Today’s the perfect day for him to breakthrough in this offense and secure his first signature win in Lexington.

It’s going to be an absolute doozy today in Lexington. Drink up every second of it.
