Kentucky Sports Radio ranks No. 1 in all of our hearts, but according to some new rankings, the rest of the country is taking notice. KSR came in 12th in Barrett Sports Media’s ranking of the top 20 Mid-Market Midday Shows, a considerable jump from last year’s 18th place finish.

How do the BSM rankings work? A panel of radio executives evaluated midday sports talk shows in all but the top ten markets on ratings and track record of success. Last year’s winner, Dan Dakich, finished fourth, whereas Nashville’s Midday 180 took this year’s crown. Here’s the top 15:

1. The Midday 180, Nashville
2. Soren Petro, Kansas City
3. Kevin Wheeler, St. Louis
4. Dan Dakich, Indianapolis
5. Cook & Poni, Pittsburgh
6. Baskin & Phelps, Cleveland
7. Monsters of the Midday, Oklahoma City
8. Rothman & Carpenter, Columbus
9. The Turn, St. Louis
10. The Really Big Show, Cleveland
11. Nick Bahe, Omaha
12. Kentucky Sports Radio, Kentucky
13. Garcia & Bailey, Charlotte
14. Jox Roundtable, Birmingham
15. David Glenn, Raleigh

As always, thanks to our loyal listeners and readers for your support. Next year, let’s beat Dakich.
