KSR Today: Merry Christmas, Big Blue Nation!

It’s a Holly Jolly Holiday. Merry Christmas, Big Blue Nation!
Hopefully, you awoke this morning to find gifts under your tree from Santa Claus. Our work on Kentucky Sports Radio isn’t as fun as that, but it’s a decent consolation prize during this wonderful time of year.
It’s a wonderful day to snuggle up and watch some Christmas Classics. If you’d rather not spend time with Ralphie or Buddy the Elf, don’t you worry, the sports world is providing plenty of entertainment for fans on Christmas Day.
NBA on Christmas
Hopefully, Santa arrived early for a few former Cats. There is a former Kentucky basketball player in every single game of the NBA’s annual Christmas extravaganza. A dozen players will be suited up with one Cat on every team but two. The action starts with KAT at Madison Square Garden. All of the games are on the ESPN/ABC family of networks.
Noon: Knicks (Karl-Anthony Towns, Jacob Toppin) vs. Spurs (Keldon Johnson)
2:30: Mavericks (PJ Washington) vs. Timberwolves (Julius Randle, Rob Dillingham)
5:00: Celtics vs. 76ers (Tyrese Maxey, Justin Edwards)
8:00: Warriors vs. Lakers (Anthony Davis, Jarred Vanderbilt)
10:30: Suns (Devin Booker) vs. Nuggets (Jamal Murray)
The NFL (and Beyonce) on Christmas
The NBA used to own Christmas Day. The NFL decided to intervene and they’re delivering a slate with four AFC teams who have clinched a playoff berth. If that wasn’t enough to get you to tune into Netflix’s first NFL broadcast, Beyonce is performing at halftime in Houston. That might be an even bigger draw than what happens between the white lines.

Maybe a Kentucky Football Commitment?
The transfer portal remains open to new entries until Dec. 28, but most of the action has died down. Kentucky already announced the addition of 14 signings. They’re a finalist for one player who decided to wait to announce his decision until Christmas Day. However, South Carolina is looking like the leader for former Ball State cornerback Myles Norwood.
There are a few of my Favorite Things
While you’re decking the halls, allow me to share a few of my favorite choice cuts to make sure you enjoy everything Christmas has to offer.

The following is one thing you cannot ignore. Nate Bargatze’s Nashville Christmas is a solid watch from start to finish, but the Nativity Scene is laugh-out-loud entertainment. If there’s a Hall of Fame of Christmas bits, this has to be enshrined.
