KSR Today: Summer Camp from Coast to Coast

It’s that time of year. If you’ve got kids, you’re in-between vacations and summer camps. That’s exactly what’s happening around the KSR compound. We’re all just a bunch of big kids, enjoying a vacation or two when we aren’t off at a summer camp. Today five members of the KSR crew are in different parts of the country to keep the BBN locked in on a Tuesday in June.

Basketball Recruits at Pangos All-American Camp

Jack Pilgrim and Zack Geoghegan are in the desert, scouting and speaking with some of the best high school basketball players in America at the Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas. They started their week at camp by talking with a couple of top Kentucky targets, Ian Jackson and Andrej Stojakovic and broke down the games of the event’s top performers.

Football Targets at Kentucky Football Camp

Closer to home, Kentucky football camps resume at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility and Kroger Field. After turning heads to earn a couple Power Five scholarship offers, 2025 local quarterback prospect Cutter Boley will spend the afternoon working out with Rich Scangarello. Luckett and I will be there to watch him sling it alongside other promising underclassmen from around the region.

NCAA Baseball Super Regional Matchups Set

Most of the top 16 seeds advanced to next weekend’s Super Regionals. The most intriguing three-game series is in Hattiesburg. Southern Miss fans will be on a different level to welcome the upper-crust instate school from Oxford. The Golden Eagles frequently play the disrespect card, and frankly, it’s deserved.

Phil Mickelson is going LIV

There aren’t many athletes who have turned heel as efficiently as Phil Mickelson. Not too long ago Phil described the Saudis who back the new LIV Tour as “scary motherf*****s” who will not hesitate to execute people. He tried to use those bade guys to leverage against the PGA Tour. It all blew up in his face and he spent four months away from golf. Monday he announced he will accept the big stack of Saudi cash and take his talents to this week’s LIV debut outside of London. The once jovial and lovable counterpart to Tiger Woods is now officially the bad guy.

Chris Oats is Regaining Independence

The Kentucky linebacker is in the middle of a life-changing grind. Two years after suffering a devastating stroke, he’s getting back on his feet. In a conversation with Peter Burns on Monday’s edition of KSR, UK SID Susan Lax shared that Chris is in the middle of a three-month stint at a state of the art rehab facility in Florida. He’s working three hours a day, five days a week to regain his independence. You can still help him reach the finish line by donating to 22OatsStrong.org.
