KSR’s KY High School Boys' Basketball Top 25 - Week 5

New year, new rankings.

Following another week of high school boys’ basketball across the state of Kentucky, we’ve updated our Top 25 statewide rankings to reflect another exciting stretch of hoops. And for the first time all season, there’s a new No. 1 sitting at the top.

After winning four games in four days at the White, Greer & Maggard Holiday Classic in Lexington, Lyon County — led by Kentucky commit Travis Perry, who was named tournament MVP — has jumped from No. 3 to the top spot. Lexington Catholic, the team that Lyon County beat in the finals, slid down one spot to No. 3.

Meanwhile, Great Crossing was moved off that top spot after dropping its first game of the season to Bishop O’Connell (VA). The Warhawks also beat two schools from South Carolina last week, but there’s now a blemish on the overall record. That, combined with Lyon County’s impressive week, was enough to switch up the order of the top three.

You can check out the entirety of the Week 5 Top 25 below. Our Week 4 rankings can be found here. KSR’s rankings are voted on by myself & Clark Howell. Fans are welcome to send their feedback on X/Twitter to @teeroyhowell and @rezinc.
