Mineral Mound Golf Course in Eddyville, Kentucky will soon be renamed "The Cullan" in honor of the late Cullan Brown. A standout golfer from Eddyville, Brown grew up playing Mineral Mound before he became an All-SEC Freshman at the University of Kentucky in the spring of 2019. He had four top-20 finishes in seven starts and placed ninth in the SEC Championship, also appearing in the PGA's Barbasol Championship where he made the cut and finished T-53 as the only amateur in the field. Unfortunately Brown's promising golf career was cut short soon after with a bone cancer diagnosis, and last August he tragically passed away at only 20 years young. https://kentuckysportsradio.com/main/remembering-cullan-brown/ Later this summer his home course will officially be renamed "The Cullan at Mineral Mound State Park,” Governor Andy Beshear recently told the Brown family. A ceremony is expected to be held in August, per WPSD in Paducah.
