If you listened to last Friday's edition of the Kentucky Sports Radio radio show, you heard the four of us break down, and give our opinions on, a bill being pushed around in Frankfort. (Ryan Lemond nailed his opinion of it, too.) The bill -- Senate Bill 89, it was called -- died a very expected death when Sen. Stephen Meredith pulled his proposal after he received threats on social media, what he called "our modern day version of the Salem witch trials." He then blamed our own Matt Jones and a Courier-Journal political cartoonist, Marc Murphy, for the reason the bill failed. After that, Sen. Meredith made some bizarre comments about them questioning his love for America and the Constitution, and I'm pretty sure he challenged them to a duel. "If you're man enough to step out from behind your microphone and keyboard," he said, "we'll meet personally about this, and I'll convey to you how much I love this country, and it will be a lesson you will not forget." Tune in to the hear the shout out to Matt around the 23:20 mark: You can listen to Matt's reaction to Sen. Meredith's comments in the first hour of today's show: And this is what Sen. Meredith's challenge reminds me of: The Courier-Journal has more on the story here.
