Kyra Elzy says Kentucky WBB will be fully healthy for Thursday's game

Kentucky Women’s Basketball has seen three of its last four outings hit with postponements, going 18 days between games before they finally return to the floor on Thursday night against No. 15 Georgia.
Two of the three postponements were a result of opposing programs getting infected with COVID-19. The third, which was the most recent outing scheduled for Jan. 3 against Mississippi State, was postponed because of COVID-19 issues on Kentucky’s side. According to UK, the game was postponed “due to a combination of positive tests, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the Kentucky women’s basketball program.”
Luckily for the ‘Cats though, it sounds like everyone is back to full strength and COVID-19 is no longer a locker room issue. Kentucky WBB head coach Kyra Elzy said during her season-opening radio show on Wednesday night that everyone will be available to play against UGA.
“Everybody will be fully available tomorrow,” Elzy said. “That’s excellent news!”
COVID-19 aside, senior guard Robyn Benton was nursing an ankle injury ahead of Kentucky’s win over South Carolina-Upstate back on Dec. 19, the last game UK has played. She sat that one out but Elzy implies she’ll be back and ready to roll against Georgia.

So far this season, Kentucky is 7-3 and yet to play its SEC-opener. The ‘Cats earned a resume-building win over West Virginia in early December but have dropped games to the likes of Indiana, DePaul, and Louisville. Beating a ranked Georgia team at home would be a terrific way to get back on track following the extended break.
No. 21 Kentucky will take on the No. 15 Bulldogs at Memorial Coliseum on Thursday night at 7 p.m. live on the SEC Network+.
