After winning its first game of The Basketball Tournament by 53 points, La Familia is considered a massive favorite ahead of round two.
According to FanDuel, the Kentucky alums opened as a 14.5-point favorite to take down War Ready, a team made up mostly of former Auburn players, this afternoon inside Memorial Coliseum. Going into this matchup, La Familia being only a 14.5-point favorite feels low — but I’m also the furthest thing from a gambling expert. All I know is the Kentucky alums beat up on Stroh’s Squad 105-52 after entering that game as a double-digit favorite. It was already a 15-point lead at halftime for the former ‘Cats before winning the second half by 38 points.
Meanwhile, War Ready had to squeeze out a 61-55 win over X-Rayted in its first round contest. The Auburn alums even trailed by three at halftime before jumping back in front going into the fourth quarter and the Elam Ending. Wendell Green Jr. and Malik Dunbar combined to score 32 points in the win, but the team as a whole shot just 35.3 percent from the field. KD Johnson, expected to be one of War Ready’s best players, was not in action against X-Rayted, and his status for today is still to be determined.
La Familia is the number one seed in this region for a reason. Bet responsibly, folks.
