LIVE BLOG Coming, Getcha' Popcorn Ready
The time is nearly upon us. The college basketball game of the season is right around the corner at noon, and the state of Kentucky is anxiously awaits. I feel the excitement buzzing all around, don’t you? We haven’t had the privilege of seeing a game as wrought with talent in decades. The stakes may not be as high as last year’s Elite Eight matchup, but the level of play and talent is outrageous. The KSR crew who made it to the game, plus others, will be joining us on the Live Blog in just a few minutes. Here are a few pregame notes before it get’s underway:
– Matt tweeted that Darius is focused and came out way early to warm up. If Miller comes out of the gates firing, UK could pull away early. His contribution on the offensive end will be a key factor today, especially from beyond the arc.
– If MKG continues to start, all ten starters will be former McDonald’s All-Americans. Has this ever happened before?
– In a Pitino-esque turn of events, it looks as if P.J. Hairston is going to give it a go today. He’s a great shooter, but who knows how effective he will be with that injured wrist.

– Tony Greene is officiating today. That’s unfortunate.
– Several recruits are on campus today to witness the fun – 2014 #1 Andrew Wiggins, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Derek Willis, and Alex Poythress. Only one of those is certain to be a Cat at the moment, but the others have plenty of recruitment time left. Wiggins is phenomenal and would be a great get down the road.
– The line is currently between -5.5 and -6 in favor of the Cats. Too high? Too low? What say you?
