LIVE BLOG: Kentucky WBB vs. Western Kentucky

Kentucky will soon begin SEC play, but first, Western Kentucky stands in the way as the Cats’ last non-conference opponent of the regular season (4 p.m. ET). KSR’s new and improved LIVE BLOG will bring you all the sights and sounds from Historic Memorial Coliseum.
The Lady Toppers are 9-2 on the year, but they have yet to play anyone quite to Kentucky’s level this season. Still, history indicates that this in-state battle should be a highly competitive one.

FINAL: Kentucky defeats WKU, moves to 11-1 on the season
12/28/2024 04:49:01 PMKentucky finishes today’s game 88-70. The win over WKU gives the ‘Cats an 11-1 record heading into SEC play next week. Kentucky plays Jan. 2 against Mississippi State at Memorial Coliseum.
Georgia Amoore and Clara Strack finish with 21 points apiece, while Teonni Key and Saniah Tyler finish with 15 and 11 points, respectively.

‘Cats cross 80
12/28/2024 04:37:17 PMWith four minutes to go, Kentucky crosses the 80-point mark to take a 16-point lead over WKU. All the ‘Cats need to do now is close out, but they’ve only made one shot of their last seven.

12/28/2024 04:20:36 PMThe ‘Cats end the third quarter up 18 on the Hilltoppers. Thanks to 14 points from Amoore, 14 from Strack, 12 from Key, and 11 from Tyler, Kentucky has a solid lead going into the final 10 minutes. With 11 rebounds, Clara Strack has already marked a double-double.
For WKU, Alexis Mead is the only player in double-digits with 14 points. Kentucky’s held the Hilltoppers to 16-44 (36%) from the field and only 3-14 (21%) from three.
Saniah Tyler’s best game of the season

Plus, Kentucky is only outscoring the Hilltoppers 8-7.
