Miami is taking a backseat to Morehead State.

The Hurricanes became trendsetters in 2017 when they unveiled the bejeweled “U” turnover chain, awarded to a defensive player on the sideline after forcing a turnover. If you thought Miami’s chain was pimpin’, wait till you see what Morehead State has on the sidelines this season.

In the fourth quarter of Morehead State’s season-opening 44-7 victory over Union, junior defensive back Isaiah Tigler picked off a pass. When he returned to the sideline, he was handed the turnover cane to celebrate the interception.

Morehead State joins elite company alongside Boise State’s turnover throne, Kennesaw State’s turnover plank, Memphis’ turnover robe and SMU’s turnover crown and chalice.
