LOOK: Nike gifts Kenny Brooks Kobe 4 'Girl Dad' shoes for Father's Day

For the most part, we all know Kenny Brooks as the women’s basketball coach at Kentucky — the guy who has all of us excited for what’s to come for the women’s basketball program, but away from the court, he’s a husband and father.
Brooks has four children, three of them being his daughters. There’s Kendyl, Chloe, Gabby and Nicholas. Kendyl and Chloe played for their dad over at Virginia Tech, and so did Gabby last season. However, Gabby has since followed her dad to Lexington to play for him at Kentucky.
Of course, being a father of three girls, Brooks has heavily embraced the “girl dad” motto. For Father’s Day, Brooks received a unique gift for that reason.
Nike sent Brooks a pair of the Kobe 4 ‘Girl Dad’ shoes, which you can get a better look at here. The words “Girl Dad” are printed on the inner tongue, the orange insoles are inspired by Kobe Bryant’s well-documented support of women’s basketball as a whole (orange is the color of the WNBA logo, for content).

Perhaps the best and most fitting part of it all, the shoes were then hand-delivered to Brooks by none other than his three daughters. His smile was priceless, to say the least.
Take a look for yourself.
Nike also notes that the green part of the shoes are inspired by the beanie that Kobe Bryant wore in a photo of him sitting courtside with his daughter, Gianna.

Kudos to Nike for making the special gesture to Kenny Brooks for Father’s Day.
