Were you expecting to see Kentucky vs. Louisville player beef on social media on this fine *checks calendar* May 11 evening? Maybe between one former UK commit in Jordan Watkins and one current Kentucky signee in Octavious Oxendine? With some added comments from Lynn Bowden Jr. and Wan’Dale Robinson? No?

We have it for you anyway.

Tonight, Watkins, who ultimately signed with Louisville after being committed to Kentucky for four months last year, threw a not-so-subtle jab at the UK football program for its dedication to the running game in recent years, specifically with Bowden at quarterback this past season.

“I wonder what it’s like to go to college to play WR and block the whole time,” Watkins said. “Couldn’t be me.”

“Don’t get me wrong it’s a very important part of playing WR but to block the majority of the plays called[?]” Watkins added in a later tweet.

As an added bonus, former Kentucky commit Wan’Dale Robinson – who helped lead Nebraska to a 5-7 record last year as freshman – followed up with a jab of his own.

“Lol [if you know, you know],” he said in a tweet paired with a few laughing emojis.

Not long after, Kentucky freshman Octavious Oxendine – a four-star signee out of North Hardin – threw a haymaker right back, praising UK’s success in the run game under Bowden.

“Blocking for 500+ rushing yards, I’ll take [Lynn Bowden] any day with his Paul Hornung Award in somebody’s city,” Oxendine responded.

Bowden then dropped the mic with his own added response to the shade, telling the future Cardinal he’s going to learn fast what it’s like to lose at the next level.

“You gone see how it is to lose too,” Bowden added.

Can someone remind Watkins that Kentucky has outscored Louisville by a total score of 101-23 the past two seasons?
