malik-newman When point guard Isaiah Briscoe committed to Kentucky last month, many wondered if it would hurt the Cats' chances with combo guard Malik Newman. Newman is notoriously mum on his recruitment, but Kentucky has been considered one of the favorites for the Mississippi native for a long, long time. In a recent interview with HoopSeen.com's Garrett Tucker, Newman said that Briscoe's commitment hasn't changed his involvement with UK, and he can see himself playing alongside Briscoe for the Cats next year. “I still talk to Kentucky the same before they had a commitment. So, we will see. If that’s where I fit the best, that’s where I will go,” Newman told Tucker. “I think Isaiah and I could definitely make a good backcourt. He’s a good player.” Kentucky, Kansas, Mississippi State, NC State, Ole Miss, and UConn are all in the running. Don't expect a decision soon--Newman says he's waiting until the spring. [Hoop Seen]
