It looks like Will Levis will be back in action Saturday night at Kroger Field. After missing the South Carolina game with a foot injury, the Kentucky quarterback returned to practice Monday. On Wednesday’s SEC Teleconference, Mark Stoops said he expects Levis to be in uniform against Mississippi State.

“Obviously, it’s important to get our quarterback back, get him out there. He’s been able to practice the first couple days of the week. We’ll see how it goes today,” said Stoops. “Right now it seems like he’ll be healthy, barring any setbacks. Obviously that brings a lot of energy to our team.”

Later on the in the teleconference, SEC reporting legend Bob Holt asked Stoops if he believes Will Levis will be able to play Saturday night.

“I do. I feel like barring any setbacks, he should be good to go,” said the Kentucky head coach. “He’s been out there Monday, Tuesday and we practice this afternoon; expecting him to be out there today. We hope he’s at or near full strength.”

Levis injured his foot while taking a safety against Ole Miss. One of the most sacked quarterbacks in college football, he’s been successful in spite of the hits. Entering week six he ranked in the top 10 nationally in QB rating (174.92), yards per attempt (10.), passes of 40+ yards (8) and 50+ yards (5).

This might be the first time Kentucky has had all of its playmakers on the field together for an extended period of time. Six weeks into the 2022 season Chris Rodriguez and Will Levis have only played 24 snaps together.

Kentucky hosts Mississippi State Saturday night at Kroger Field, kicking off just after 7:30 pm ET on the SEC Network.
