stoopsx-large Who knew today would be "defend the SEC" day? It's been three weeks since Bob Stoops threw salt on the SEC's dominance of college football, and his younger brother Mark is finally ready to respond. To refresh: Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops said that he's tired of hearing people rave about how the SEC's the best conference in the country, and that anything suggesting that is merely "propoganda":
“So they’ve had the best team in college football. They haven’t had the whole conference. Because, again, half of ‘em haven’t done much at all. I’m just asking you. You tell me. ...So you’re listening to a lot of propoganda that gets fed to you. Again, you can look at the top two, three, four, five, six teams, and you can look at the bottom six, seven, eight, whatever they are. How well are they doing?”
As the new head coach of one of those bottom teams, younger brother Mark responded to his brother's words at the SEC Media Days in Destin: "Our league-- we don’t have to answer to that. Our league speaks for itself." With a few more big recruiting classes, Kentucky football will speak for itself, too.
