Mark Stoops teases "major NIL news" coming Monday, Nov. 14

It would appear the University of Kentucky’s NIL (name, image, and likeness) collective is coming sooner rather than later, whether particular people like it or not. It’s been the most buzzed-about topic all week and that buzz came to a tipping point on Wednesday when head football coach Mark Stoops directly called for the start of a NIL collective.
UK Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart then took a necessary step forward by penning a letter to the Big Blue Nation on Thursday to address the concerns among fans regarding Kentucky’s slow-moving NIL process. Support from all areas of leadership for NIL is now steadily coming along, but Stoops made the biggest leap forward on Friday morning.

Athlete Advantage, which is linked to UK, posted a tweet on Friday with a video of Coach Stoops teasing that something big is coming in the world of NIL. He also asked for the fans’ help in the short, six-second clip.
“Major NIL news coming Monday. Big Blue Nation, we need you.”
KSR’s Matt Jones has been at the forefront of this recent surge in urgency surrounding UK’s involvement with NIL. In case you missed it, he spoke earlier this week on some of the reasons why the university is behind other SEC schools. Since then, serious momentum has been drumming and has now reached the point where Stoops is making statements about “major NIL news”.
