Kentucky is on a hot recruiting run. After landing five commitments this week, there is some real momentum building on the trail for the Wildcats. There is also some competition.

Florida State is hosting both Jonathan Daniels and Jalewis Solomon for an official visit this weekend. Terhyon Nichols (Michigan) and Damarion Witten (Ohio State) are visiting Big Ten powerhouses. Kendall Jackson is checking out Miami. Missouri is also hosting two players on Kentucky’s big board.

Four-star tailback Johann Cardenas and unranked safety Cam Dooley are taking official visits to Missouri this weekend as head coach Eliah Drinkwitz‘s staff has a huge weekend on tap in CoMo.

Five-star local products Williams Nwaneri and Ryan Wingo are both scheduled to take their official visits to Missouri as it appears this SEC East program has some ground to cover in each battle. Joining them will be Dooley and Cardenas.

Dooley is an unranked defensive back target out of Valley (Ala.) High who took official visits to Kentucky (June 9-11) and Vanderbilt (June 16-18) earlier this month. The football recruit with a high-level basketball background has informed KSR that he will be making his college decision on July 4.

Cardenas is a former Texas Tech commit who took an official visit to Vanderbilt before canceling his official visit to Kentucky. Since then, the Wildcats added a commitment from Tovani Mizell and appear to be in great shape in a battle for Jason Patterson. Mizzou is now a top competitor for Vandy in this top-500 recruitment.

Kentucky and Missouri are officially rubbing shoulders on the recruiting trail. Cam Dooley is one to watch this weekend as the safety big board seems thin for Kentucky at the moment after Vaboue Toure committed to Penn State.
